Hi all,

I wanted to update you on our dearest Ms. Verna.

In early August, Ms. Verna visited an oncologist at a public hospital in Hong Kong for a therapy assessment. The family asked many tough question and the answers were dispiriting. The oncologist showed them that no cure was being considered, and Ms. Verna's priority for chemotherapy had been downgraded from 1 to 3. Fortunately, thanks to a generous referral from the Cheng family, Ms. Verna and Mr. Marvin were able to seek a second opinion from a private sector oncologist. This oncologist told the couple that Western oncology could only offer little solace at this stage and encouraged them to explore other options.

It is indeed a very sad news ... 😢

A few weeks ago, the couple traveled to Thailand, where they sought treatment at a clinic known for its success in treating patients with cervical 4B. After speaking with Ms. Verna, she mentioned that she is doing better now. She described the clinic as lovely and the doctors as attentive, taking the time to listen and explain. However, she is still experiencing some issues with her tummy.

Mr. Marvin recently shared to us:

"Here in Thailand, they were finally able to determine the cause of Teacher Verna’s gastrointestinal problem, a matter that the hospital in Hong Kong neglected to address or disclose to us. We're currently in the ICU at Bangkok Hospital. Teacher Verna is undergoing treatment for the gastrointestinal issue that was overlooked by the Hong Kong hospital. The integrative clinic we visited astutely identified the issue and promptly referred us to Bangkok Hospital for further treatment."

Unfortunately, the treatments and associated expenses at Bangkok Hospital are costly. Just yesterday, we spent 250,000 baht (approximately HKD 52,000) for scans, transfusions, medications and deposits. The doctor has informed us that she requires an additional hospital stay. While we had diligently set aside funds for the intensive integrative treatment period, we did not anticipate or prepare for Teacher Verna's hospitalisation in this foreign land due to the negligence of the previous medications."

For those who know Ms. Verna and Mr. Marvin, you understand that they never wish to burden others by soliciting financial assistance or asking for help. It is disheartening to imagine that Ms. Verna may not be able to receive the necessary treatment because there aren't enough medical funds.

Therefore, I humbly ask for your support in helping to cover her medical expenses. Let us come together to kindle the flame of hope within her and always keep her in your prayers.

🙏🏽💕
